Steady trade for Texels at Armoy
Mr John Trimble, Curley Texels, Newry, Co Down judged the Glen Farm Supplies presale show, commencing with the shearling class.
Mr Murray Annett, Milestonehill Flock, Rathfrailand, Co Down took the first place rosette for a Duvarren Talisman son out of a daughter by Tullagh Legend, which later sold for £735. Second place went to Graeme Martin, Burnside Texels, Broughshane.

Hide AdHis Milestonehill Smithy son changed hands for £586.50. Henry Gamble Springwell Texels, Groomsport, Co Down, claimed third place for his Cornerstone Temple Mount son out of a homebred ewe by Deveronvale Oddie. He later sold for joint top price of the night for £756 with M&J Watson, Hillhead Texels Dundonald, Co Down selling his homebred shearling, a Hillhead Test Drive son, for the same money.
Trade remained strong for shearling rams with Robbie Mulligan, Brague Texels, Banbridge, Co Down in the money for his fourth placed shearling, a Milcomb Stobart son making £735.
Mr Trimble choose his Glen Farm Supplies Champion and Reserve Champion from the ram lamb class. The Champion was selected from the pen of Robert & Andrew Kennedy, Ballymena. His Maineview exhibit, a Duncryne Uber Cool son out of an Ettrick Warrior dam realised £483, while his pen mate a Strathbogie Smokey Blue made £420. Martin McConville, Glenhone Texels, Rathfrailand, saw his Reserve Champion, a Haddo Undercover son sell for £525. But taking top price for ram lambs was Simpson & Calvin, Ballyhivistock Texels, Castlecatt, Ballymoney for the fourth place lamb selling to £577.50.
Trade was maintained with Sam McAuley, Whitepark Texels, Mosside, Ballymoney see his lamb change hands for £441 with Stephen Etherson, Killans Texels, Ballymoney follow close behind with £430.50 and Henry Gamble, Springwell Texels, Groomsport with £420.
