Carson calls for flood action
He said that he had raised the issue with the Divisional Roads Manager and local Section Office recently and has called for remedial work to take place to provide adequate drainage.
Councillor Carson said, “At a recent Planning committee of Lisburn City Council, I raised the need for action to be taken to prevent the flooding of Queens Road with Senior DRD officials.

Existing drainage gullies are unfortunately now not situated at the lowest part of the road and therefore pools of water on either side have nowhere to drain away from.
“During the very recent adverse weather, this problem was exemplified with both lanes in both directions flooding. I was pleased to see most drivers were taking cognisance of the weather warnings and reducing speed.”
