Council driving force in push for carriageway upgrade
The Chief Executive Anne Donaghy reminded councillors at their monthly meeting on Thursday night in The Braid that the proposal to upgrade 8km of the carriageway was not in the current four year investment plan as set out by the Department of Regional Development.
She said: “...it would be advantageous to liaise with relevant Councils in the Northern Key Transport Corridor area to consider a joint effort to seek to develop an approach to the Department, not only with respect to the above section of the Key Transport Corridor but, indeed, to ensure the necessary development along the entire length of the Key Transport Corridor”.
