Council marks 50 years for firm
The reception marked the 50th anniversary of David Murphy Towing which is based in Carryduff.
Invited guests were treated to a tour of the Council Chamber and Mayor Bloomfield made a presentation on behalf of the council to David and his son Jonathan Murphy acknowledging their service as employers in the borough.

Hide AdMayor Bloomfield said: “I would like to congratulate David and Jonathan on the success of your family manufacturing business over the past 50 years. Your achievements in an industry which has suffered during difficult economic times is to be commended.
“I would also like to pay tribute to the commitment you’ve shown your staff too. Some have been with you on your journey over the last 50 years and I would take this opportunity to wish you well for the next 50 years.”
Jonathan Murphy of David Murphy Towing said that he was honoured to be recognised in this way.
“It’s an honour for David Murphy Towing to be recognised by Mayor Bloomfield and Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council,” he said.

“I’m proudly focussed on further building the business my father David and mother Muriel developed by increasing turnover and working towards development of David Murphy Towing for the next generation.”
David Murphy Towing was founded 50 years ago. The family business manufactures a range of towing equipment from trailers to towbars, cycle racks, roof racks and accessories. They deliver products to both domestic and commercial customers in NI and we work with trade partners to service customers in Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.
