Council’s plea to land owners over stalled Rathfern project
During December’s Development Committee meeting, Alderman Thomas Hogg stressed that the council has been trying for some time, without success, to acquire the site at Knockenagh Avenue from the two public bodies in order to develop it for the local community.
Commenting on the stalled project, the DUP man claimed that the council is “being let down” by the NIHE and NEELB.

Members agreed Alderman Hogg’s proposal that the council write to the chief executives of the two organisations to remind them of the council’s interest in obtaining the land, and to urge them to “resolve the matter without any further delay.”
