Dawgone event for kids at Dogs Trust
The event, on April 4 and 5, included fun and educational activities which culminated in each child “buddy-ing” one of the staff dogs for the day and learning basic training and fun agility in the fields surrounding the centre.
The children also learned how to care for a dog, how to bake “doggy treats” and at the end of the day compiled a scrapbook to take home.

Learning how to be a responsible dog owner from an early age is important, and the event was a great opportunity for local children to meet some of the lovely four-legged friends currently at our centre and learn about them and basic training techniques.”
Dogs Trust, is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and has a network of 12 Education Officers like Cathy who work with children and schools around the country teaching them about the important messages of responsible dog ownership and the fun a dog can bring.
The Education Officers run workshops throughout the school year and several holiday classes are also arranged over the seasonal breaks. To find out more visit www.learnwithdogs.co.uk.
