Do your heart good!
Nominated by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Northern Ireland, Coleraine ‘Heart Town’ is one of three municipalities to be awarded this status.
February is recognised as Heart Month and Council has launched a full programme of events to get the public to support BHF Northern Ireland and help fight heart disease.

Hide AdOn Tuesday, February 12, local councillors make their contribution as they take part in training to highlight cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The over 50s Forum Tea Dance takes place in Montra Club Coleraine and will have information stalls from 5pm until 10pm. For more information on the Tea Dance contact Rosemary McCaw on 028 70328485.
There are a range of activities planned for all ages to enjoy every week and Saturday, 16th February is no different.
Council’s stage will be positioned outside Coleraine Town Hall to host a programme of entertainment from 11am. Hearts will be pumping as the programme starts with a Zumba demonstration in the Diamond. Zumba is an exciting way of exercising and fun for all ages.

Hide AdThe class will be supported by Q97.2 as they broadcast live. A band will play live on stage between 2pm and 3pm, followed by a Tea Dance in the Town Hall with FREE refreshments for everyone.
The mayor of Coleraine, councillor Sam Cole said; “Coleraine Heart Town programme is well underway and we encourage everyone to get involved.
“In the lead up to Valentine’s Day our hearts are constantly depicted on cards and in the media. It is important for citizens of this Borough to think about their own heart and to help save lives by focusing on this worthy cause. I encourage everyone to come along this Saturday and get involved in these free activities.”
Information and advice on heart health will be provided as vital funds are raised for ground breaking research.
