Exercise "Wheatsheaf" aimed to test Emergency Support Centre Protocol
The Council organised this exercise as part of their co ordination role within emergency planning in the Borough. Actors included year 12 pupils from Ballymoney High School, Performing Art Students from Northern Regional College and UUJ Environmental Health Students.
Actors were used to portray the distress and anxiety of persons caught up in such an emergency incident in the local area causing them to be evacuated to a place of safety.

Hide AdMr Bryan Edgar Deputy Director of Borough Services said: “The exercise provided both statutory agencies and voluntary services the opportunity to work together testing internal procedures in the event of an emergency. It proved to be a valuable and worthwhile learning experience allowing all to develop other skills and knowledge whilst working under difficult circumstances”.
