Lottery funding for Whitehead
The club, which provides a focal point for members of the community, will use the funding to install fibreglass insulation in the roof-space and to carry out an energy audit to work out improvements needed to reduce annual heating costs.
Local man David Maxwell, who has been a member of the club for 52 years, explained that the money saved will be ploughed back into the running of the club house.

Hide AdHe said: “Whitehead Golf Club has a long history and dates back to 1904. We are a non-profit making organisation and all the money we make goes back into the upkeep of our club house so it’s fit for the local community to use.
