Mayor's chosen charity boosted by non-uniform day
The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough, Councillor Billy Ashe thanked pupils and staff for their effort when he visited the school to receive the cheque.
He said: “This is my charity of choice as Mayor of the Borough and I was delighted to hear that this local Carrickfergus school had raised a substantial amount of £350 for Alzheimer’s.

“This is in aid of my chosen charity, the Alzheimer’s Society, with all the money raised going towards the charity’s caring role in providing information and advice, care and support for those suffering dementia as well as their families and in researching the cause, cure, care and prevention of the disease.”
The money was raised on a non-uniform day on April 29, which was also Inter-Generational Day.
