PUP concerned over suspended terms
Lurgan PUP spokesperson Aaron Dowey congratulated the police on their swift actions in bringing the men to justice.
However, he was also dismayed at the sentence: ”Unfortunately the good work of the PSNI was let down by the criminal justice system which failed to send a strong message to those thinking of carrying out such criminal actions.

“Everyone is shocked by the leniency of the sentence which will do nothing to deter future would be-robbers and do little to comfort the victims of this crime. Despite the leniency in sentencing, the actions of the police must be applauded as they arrived on the scene within minutes.”
