RBL ‘stalwarts’ honoured for their work
Gardiner Kane used the word to describe the contributions of Peter Harden and Eileen McAllister when making presentations to both at a meeting of the Ballycastle branch of the RBL last Thursday night.
Mr. Harden, a sprightly 81-year-old, has acted as secretary for the past eleven years, but has now handed over the responsibility to Robin Cole.

Hide AdPeter, originally from England and a former member of the Royal Air Force, came to live in Ballycastle with his locally born wife some 16 years and soon afterwards joined the RBL.
His contribution down the years was described as excellent by Mr.Kane who said his record-keeping was faultless.
Eileen McAllister, a well-known face around Ballycastle, has been treasurer since 1999 and is also Poppy Appeals Organiser along with Angela Mills.
She too was praised for her work by Mr. Kane who said the branch was the better for Eileen’s effort and commitment.
