He wrote the script for Boogaloo and Graham which was shortlisted in the live action short category of the Oscars.
The Blaney family spent a glamorous week in Los Angeles wining and dining with Hollywood’s elite.
However the movie, directed by Michael Lennox, was narrowly beaten by The Phone Call by Mat Kirkby and James Lucas.

Hide AdBoogaloo and Graham was written by Dr Blaney and is based on a childhood memory of when his father Sean brought home two chicks for Ronan and his brother Mel to rear.
The film is set in 1970s Belfast and has been given rave reviews.
It is about two young boys who discover the facts of life with the help of their pet chickens.
The Oscars were held last night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
