Sainsbury’s Sarah takes part in Local Hero scheme
The retailer encourages colleagues to volunteer with a charity or community group and donates £5 to that group for every hour spent volunteering.
Sarah McFall has been helping Carrickfergus Central Primary by assisting in the school’s library.

Hide AdShe runs the library by giving out and collecting the books, participating in story time, encouraging the children to read and helping the children select appropriate books for their reading level.
The scheme is now in its second year and has raised over £130,000 in additional donations.
David Sterrett, deputy store manager, said: “It’s amazing how many colleagues give up their own time to help so many great causes. The Local Heroes scheme recognises the hard work and dedication our colleagues have for their local community”.
The scheme recognises volunteering including school governors, Scout and Guide leaders, sports coaches and charity event helpers.
