Vehicle hazards highlighted at roadshow
Environmental Health Officers from Newtownabbey Borough Council teamed up with Newtownabbey Road Safety Committee recently to hold another very successful Vehicle Roadshow at Abbey Retail Park.
The annual event, which aims to help raise awareness of road safety measures and improve air quality, saw 65 vehicles tested for vehicle emissions, tyre safety and headlamp beam alignment.
Some 43 of the total vehicles checked were petrol engines, with two showing poor emissions results. A total of 25 vehicles needed tyre replacements, while 10 vehicles needed headlamp replacements. Five vehicles needed replacement of both.
