A spokesperson said: “Traditional hairdressing competitions are judged solely on hairstyle but this competition was designed to challenge the students to think beyond a hairstyle and consider a person’s whole appearance, picking clothes, shoes and make-up to match their hairstyle theme.”
The competition was judged by David Donnelly from Salon Services, James Wallace from the James Wallace Salon in Downpatrick and award-winning Joseph Scott, who owns a salon in Belfast.
The luxury prizes were sponsored by Denman and Wella.
