Young democrats hold their first agm
Members reflected on what has been an extremely successful time, with activities including trips to the Jet Centre and Dundonald Ice Bowl; guided tours of The Braid and Mossley Mill; the “Hooley On The Hill” charity fundraiser and the Lord Bannside Memorial Dinner.
They were also pleased to note the formation of new Young Democrats branches in areas such as North Belfast, Londonderry and Fermanagh & South Tyrone.

Hide AdGuest speaker at their annual meeting on Thursday, May 26, was newly elected MLA Phillip Logan, who is himself a member of the group.
Mr Logan thanked the Young Democrats for the important part they played in the campaign for each of the DUP candidates in the Assembly election which resulted in the party being returned once again as the largest in the constituency.
Mr Logan also spoke about how he is settling in to his new role at Stormont and how he plans to deliver the high standard of representation that people expect.
The Election of officers for the coming year was held at the annual general meeting, with Rasharkin man Mark Millar becoming the group’s new chairman.

Hide AdThe evening concluded with a screening of “Brexit: The Movie” relating to the referendum on 23rd June. The Young Democrats will be campaigning on this over the coming weeks.
