SLUG promotes and develops sport and physical activity opportunities for people with a disability. Membership of the group is made up of people with a disability along with advisors from Craigavon Borough Council, the Southern Health Trust and local disability organisations.
It also has a number of other aims: to act as a voice airing comments and concerns from local people about issues around accessing existing facilities and services; to act as a planning group with key decision makers to help develop physical activity programmes and activities; to steer local statutory agencies in the right direction in relation to physical activity provision; to spread information about planned activities or opportunities locally and to access funding opportunities from funding organisations.
