ANTRIM ROVERS TOURNAMENT
Both the U9s and U10s enjoyed a good day’s football at the Antrim Festival Football Tournament hosted by Antrim Rovers in glorious sunshine at Allen Park on Saturday. The two teams were amongst the 30 odd teams assembled in what was a great day of football.
Carniny Under 9s played group games against Carnmoney Ladies, Magherafelt Sky Blues and Northend Utd, finishing second in the group with a win, a draw and finally losing out 1-0 in a closely contested game to group winners, Northend.
Drawn against Carrick Rangers in the Plate semi-final, it looked like the game was heading for penalties Carrick managed a fast breakaway and tucked away the cross to break Carniny hearts. Carniny pressed for the equaliser right to the final whistle but were unfortunate to lose out by the narrowest of margins.
